Since Marijuana is on the verge of being legalized for recreational use in California and already legal for recreational use in other states, a lot of people have seen this as an opportunity to jump the gun and enter the cannabis industry. Hollywood has seen and heard this trend clearly, that is why we are noticing so many celebrities getting in to the cannabis game. With the Marijuana industry growing right now, flower is not the only channel to go if you want to start your own cannabis brand. Edibles, Oils, Topical and Concentrates make the possibilities limitless! Here is a list of celebrities who are trying to take advantage and jump in the game before anybody:

  1. Snoop Dogg: everyone could have guessed that Snoop Dogg who has been a cannabis enthusiast since the 80s would have made this list. Snoop Dogg’s Leaf’s by Snoop debuted in Nov. 2015 in Colorado. Snoop’s line features Flowers, Edibles, and Concentrates. Leaf’s by Snoop offers 8 different marijuana strains, either in flower or wax form, and they offer 16 different edibles options as well.

  2. Tommy Chong: Tommy Chong has probably been the most famous stoner in Hollywood for as long as we can remember. That is why in 2014 he decided to launch his own line called “Chong Star” which is a hybrid dominant Marijuana strains, that promotes treating depression and relaxation. Tommy Chong also has another Cannabis brand that sells Pre-rolls, Flower Jars, Oil Cartridges, and THC strips.

  3. Ghost Face Killah: The famous rapper from one of the most popular hip hop groups in history famously gave up weed back in 2004 when he was going through dark times in his life. He made a comeback though recently and launched his own cannabis line. “Ghostface Killah’s Wu-Goo” is sold in primarily in cartridges and sold through a company called Dynamite Stix. Currently you can only get his products in California, but with the ever-changing Cannabis laws Ghostface said he plans to expand into multiple markets.

  4. Melissa Etheridge: The famous singer made a splash on the Cannabis scene in 2014 when she partnered with a California Cannabis Dispensary in Santa Cruz and created her own Wine infused with CBD and THC called “No Label.” She has seen success in this wine venture and has even added to her selection to include: Shiraz, Grenache, and a Cabernet.

  5. Whoopi Golberg: The legendary Whoopi Goldberg decided to dive into the Cannabis industry early in 2016 when she partnered with award winning edibles maker Maya Elisabeth. Whoopi Goldberg wanting to pave a way for women in the cannabis industry decided to start her own line of salves, balms, and edibles that are focused on helping women with Menstrual cramps and discomfort.

  6. Bob Marley: The Godfather of Cannabis, the poster boy of cannabis, and probably the most famous marijuana advocate ever finally has his own cannabis line. Marley’s family in 2014 decided to launch their own pre-packaged Jamaican inspired flower. Marley Natural comes in pre-packaged pre-rolls and pre-packaged eights. It’s only right that the man himself Bob Marley finally has his own Marijuana brand/line.

  7. Wiz Khalifa: If you have ever listened to any Wiz Khalifa song then it is evident that he is a big proponent of Marijuana and legalizing it. Recently Wiz Khalifa launched his own strain “Khalifa Kush” sold nationwide now and with over 5 different strains. Wiz Khalifa is said to be planning on doing more releases in the near future, so keep an eye out!

The Marijuana industry will be big business and those celebrities are trying to get ahead of the game. These celebrities taking advantage of the booming marijuana industry are just a few examples of the plethora of Hollywood stars we will see try to carve out their own niche in this market.
