How to Smoke Ice Water Hash

How to Smoke Ice Water Hash

These days, many cannabis consumers are branching out and discovering new ways to enjoy their favorite products. While smoking and ingesting edibles are still the two primary options, cannabis concentrates are becoming far more prevalent.

One common concentrate you can find in many dispensaries is ice water hash. However, because of the consistency of this product, you need to know how to smoke it effectively. This way, you can get the best experience possible.

So, with that in mind, let’s break down how to smoke ice water hash.

What is Ice Water Hash?

As with other cannabis concentrates, ice water hash is created by extracting the trichomes from the cannabis plant.

Trichomes are small, tubular elements that stick out from the plant’s leaves. These pieces contain everything that gets you high, including THC, terpenes, and other cannabinoids. So, the goal of extraction is to separate the trichomes so the result is as pure and uncontaminated as possible.

With ice water hash, the extraction method uses ice water to freeze and break off the trichomes from the leaves. Manufacturers will often put the leaves through multiple ice baths to ensure they remove all the trichomes.

The result is a somewhat grainy and sticky residue that resembles wet sand. There are a few variations of ice water hash, but they’re all basically the same in how you smoke them.

How to Smoke Ice Water Hash

There are a couple of different ways to enjoy ice water hash, whether you’re a beginner or a cannabis veteran. The first is the sprinkle method, and the second is dabbing. Here’s a breakdown of each option:

Sprinkle Method

In this case, you just sprinkle a small (tiny) amount of hash onto a bowl that’s already packed with cannabis buds. Adding the concentrate can yield a more significant and longer-lasting high.

However, if you haven’t had any concentrates before, you may want to wait to try this method. Since concentrates are so potent, you don’t want to get too high too quickly by accident.

Dabbing

Dabbing is the preferred method of consuming any cannabis concentrate. To dab, you’ll need a wand, a torch, a nail, and an oil rig. Here are the steps involved:

  • First, add a small amount of concentrate to the tip of your wand. If you’re new to this product, don’t use more than will fit on the tip. Too much and you could pass out from the potency.
  • Second, heat your nail with the torch. It should only take a few seconds before the nail is red hot. You shouldn’t need to wear gloves if you’re using an actual cannabis nail. Otherwise, gloves can prevent you from burning your fingers by accident. If you have an electric nail, you won’t need a torch.
  • Once the nail is hot, let it cool to between 450-500 degrees fahrenheit. Then, touch your concentrate to the tip of the nail and inhale the smoke. Go slowly and pay attention to how you feel. If you’re getting too high, stop and sit down (if you’re not sitting already).
